SMHS Track and Field Awards Ceremony

Megan went with me to support Katelyn at her Track and Field Awards Ceremony tonight.  She was awarded her Varsity Letter which she got her wings (bar) because she already earned her letter in swim.  Then she was also awarded a plaque for being a State Qualifier... some nice recognition tonight!  Got some pictures afterward with Sammy Holmes and Hannah Hinton and also Brooke Lee and some other friends from the Track team.  And we couldn't pass up a picture with Coach Lattie, who was also Megan's distance coach in high school.  Then I got some pictures of her Letter Certificate, her State Qualifier plaque and her Varsity Wings!  So fun!!  I love how on the plaque it states that their 4x800 relay team placed first at the District Championships!  Below these pictures are all shots I took off the Track and Field Facebook page.  I didn't know they were posted online, otherwise I would've kept up with all the meets and kept them in order... but there are some great shots!  Katelyn had a great season inspite of those dang shin splints!  Next year she's gonna come back with a vengeance and that 4x800 team is gonna do big things at State! 

 

 

The next 9 pictures are of Katelyn at the District Championships... this was the first event and Katelyn was the first runner in the 4x800 that took 1st.  I love this picture where she is contemplating her race and thinking about what she has to do!  And I love the pictures of her start, running and handing off the baton!!  I also love the congratulatory hug and holding the baton picture after their race, as well.  Some great pictures from District! 

The next 5 pictures are from the Chandler Rotary Meet...  Katelyn ran the 4x800 and also the open 800 at this meet, but was unable to complete her other events because she got sick.  It was a good meet and fun to watch...as always!

These 2 shots are just miscellaneous pictures from meets... not sure which ones, and they are pictures of a picture... I couldn't find these on the Facebook page, so I just took a picture of them.  (I got them at the Awards Ceremony tonight.)  It was a fun season... sad to see that it's over!!!
