The Bachelorette Party...

This was something that caused a bit of a sore spot between Megan and I... she insisted on having her bachelorette party THE night before her wedding-- when we already had the Groom's Dinner that night already!  Plus, it was after the dinner AT OUR HOUSE thrown by OUR DAUGHTER Brooke!  Which means Dad took over and bought and planned everything taking his time and attention away from the real things that needed to be happening...like relaxing and being with our family and getting a good night's rest before the big day! (We've had so much going on and really just needed to chill!  I needed to find my zen, but unfortunately was very out of sorts that night... which is exactly what I didn't want the night before my daughter's wedding!)   It is a Polley tradition to do this, and one of Todd's sisters couldn't be there until this night, so it had to be this way.  We tried ever so hard to persuade her to do it on Thursday night, and just have her explain to this sister why, but that was a no go!  I'm absolutely sure that the sister would've completely understood... and incidentally... during the wedding reception Megan indicated to me how tired she was-- alluding to the fact that I was RIGHT about the night before in getting plenty of rest!  Ugh!!  I think moms are sometimes the LAST people that brides listen to!  It ended on time (we said no later than 11) but we still had to clean up and put away everything-- one of my stipulations in having the party at our house, which Brooke was very good about doing.  She kept all of her promises, and the party was a short one.  All of my good friends and mother said that I was crazy to let this happen!  I really felt crazy and that I was truly losing it!  I think it was very unfair to do this... it won't happen again.  I'll put my foot down next time, using this time as the bad example.  I knew this would all happen, but nobody had any reference point to it, so they insisted and it went out of control and we were ALL super tired the next day-- which is a long, tiring day WITHOUT two big parties the night before.  WE KNOW NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
