We hiked to 2 waterfalls this morning-- these falls are located along the road to Hana and it is definitely more lush and green on this side of the island which is the wet side. (We are staying on the dry side in Wailea.) The hiking was gorgeous and we enjoyed cooling off in the very brisk waters of these 2 waterfalls. The first one is open to the public and the 2nd one is on private property, so we could go there because of our tour. It definitely was more secluded with a lot less people. Todd, Brooke and Katelyn enjoyed jumping off all the falls and from trees and rope swings. We saw some ferny looking "shy" grass, some pineapples being grown on the farm located on that private land and we ate a bunch of the berries growing wild along the way. (One of them seriously tasted like the berries in Captain Crunch!) These berries go bad really fast, so you can only eat them off the tree! (It would make such good jam!) Our guide was cute and pointed out a lot of interesting things along the way. Later on in our trip it was mentioned by several of us that this was their favorite tour on Maui! It was definitely a gorgeous day and much cooler under all the shade and canopy of the jungle! Katelyn's sunburn is now blister status on several areas of her body-- she has lots of owies from Maui! Hahaha! Later on in the evening we drove out to Paia and had dinner at the famous Mama's Fish House. Apparently normally you have to have reservations 6 months in advance, but Todd was able to find a reservation for all 7 of us for tonight, when we first got here to Maui. The food was good, the atmosphere was amazing and the service was awesome! It was definitely an experience! While we were eating, some people were blowing those big bubbles on the beach-- we couldn't see them, but we kept seeing the gigantic bubbles they were blowing wafting up into the air. It was fun to watch while we ate and added to the relaxed atmosphere. After dinner, we walked down to the beach and took some sunset pictures and dipped our feet in the water. We poked around main street in Paia for a bit and enjoyed looking into all the shops and businesses along this road in "hippy" town. All the shops were closed unfortunately, but it was fun to walk around in the cool evening breezes! It was a fun day in Maui-- just like every single day has been!
