Maui Day 2-- Kihea and Ululani's Shave Ice!!
7.12.2024

The day started out with a nice run along the beach on a nice path and then on to the Edward Jones group breakfast, which was so good with all the yummy tropical fruits! Bill and I and Megan and Todd went to our meetings in the morning and then it was off on our adventures for the day. We went to Kihea and had a yummy lunch at a restaurant that had A LOT of people out front, so we decided to try it and it was SO GOOD! We all got fish entrees and shared our food with each other. Then we went shopping and poking around in an outdoor market that was shaded by huge plumerias and mango trees. It was a pretty little setting. We had fun finding cute things there-- Todd bought a Hawaiian shirt and the girls bought some things, and I found a cute little t-shirt for Luke, as well. Todd found a 5 star shave ice place called Ululani's. We waited out in the heat and humidity for over an hour, but it was WORTH IT!!!!! We understand why the line was so long!!! The shave ice was so fine, it had the texture of butter! And all their syrups are homemade with no corn syrup-- just cane sugar and they use real fruit instead of just flavorings. SO GOOD! (We went back there a couple more times during our stay in Maui!) We went back to the hotel for dinner. Megan and Todd went to dinner with one of the Edward Jones hosts at a really nice restaurant there at the hotel and the rest of us decided to play it chill and order a pizza through their little market. We poked around the store while we waited for our pizza and then took it out to the pool and ate it there. We went in the hot tub after. It was nice to relax after a fun day! Just a side note: There are chickens EVERYWHERE-- just like on Kauai. The roosters do not just crow at dawn either-- they crow all day long! (Woke up to them the first morning!
