This week went by so sooooo fast! I can't believe it's already time to write another email! We did a ton of service for people this week which was fun and I just love the people here. They are amazing!
Seeds of Faith
I'm so excited for General Conference in April! In last General Conference, the prophet, President Russel M Nelson, gave these POWERFUL promises in one of his talks on overcoming the world:
"With the power of the holy apostleship vested in me
I bless you in your quest to overcome this world.
I bless you to increase your faith in Jesus Christ and learn better how to draw upon His power.
I bless you to be able to discern truth from error.
I bless you to care more about the things of God than the things of this world.
I bless you to see the needs of those around you and strengthen those you love.
Because Jesus Christ overcame this world, you can too."
I have definitely seen all these blessings in my life since October! Missions have a way of helping you overcome a ton. But I also think of y'all not on missions and how much more distracting and overwhelming the world can be! Sometimes I feel so separated from it all that I'm in a little Jesus bubble lol. But the prophets words are still true for everyone! Y'all can create your own Jesus bubble haha but not one that separates you from others but that helps you see them in the best way! Pull others into it! He offers protection, He offers comfort, He offers healing. The Holy Ghost is a big part of the bubble and guides us to the truth, to strength, to overcoming. It really is the BEST GIFT. OK as I finish writing this maybe bubble isn't the best analogy but y'all know what I'm getting at here, baha!
*INVITATION*
Call on the prophet's promised blessings! He is God's microphone for the whole world to hear and holds the keys and power to make those promises to us. Strive to access those blessings and that relationship with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly parents!
Pockets of Fun
-We went on exchanges this week! So fun haha. I almost ran over a dog crossing the road to do his business on the neighbors tree and we also FOUND AN AMAZING PART MEMBER FAMILY!!! They are so nice and open. The husband had joined the church a long time ago but eventually went atheist and forgot all about our church. But recently he has chosen to believe in God and Jesus Christ again! He has been studying the Bible a lot and when we went over there we had a super good talk. Both him and his wife are going to study the Book of Mormon! It's amazing how God's timing works for us to have met with both of them at the right time when both of them are seeking truth!
-We went to the Savannah river park and talked to a lot of people about the gospel. It was awesome and soooo pretty! I scared the bojangles out of my comps when I said I saw an alligator though heehee and we found this weird tower thing walking back (see picture). It looked like the swamp version of Rapunzel's tower in Tangled baha--Swangled?
-We visited someone in the hospital and as we were leaving we got talking to this legend. His name is Demetrius and we gave him a picture of Jesus and then just got talking. He is sooooo searching for something more and we testified of this gospel to him and gave him a Book of Mormon as he was running to catch his bus lol. Love him and God is so good!
-We did service for Sister Hoffa and she is the epitome of a Southern grandma--I LOVE HER! We helped organize her clothes and after she gave us a bunch of nice jewelry holy moly! I can't believe how much stuff people give us as missionaries--so so kind! We are definitely taken care of! And I love having things to remember people by. I'm ultra sentimental!
Gratitude
-Prophets in these days!
-The people here really take care of us. I love them SO MUCH!
-The cleansing and lifting change and joy that Baptism and the Holy Ghost can bring!
-Instruments and the power they have to communicate so much with no words!
-How frying things can *almost* make anything taste good lol...
-Sunsets:)
-Sleeping to the rain pattering!
Southern Vocab
Fried Chicken Liver: Yep its true--they fry everything here. A member had me try it at a restaurant we went to and it was disgusting... but not as bad as I was expecting! She gave my comps a small piece and then I got a HUGE one lol. I don't know how I got through it. Very mushy and crunchy at the same time. I just drenched it in sauce but it being fried helped lol!
