6 MONTHS?!?! (Katelyn's Letter)

11.14.2022

Hey y'all!

I HIT 6 MONTHS THIS WEEK. I literally don't know what happened like WHAT? I love this mission so so sooo much. My capacity to love and learn has grown so much AND it's the hardest thing I've had to do but hard is so so good and we need hard to change for the better:)

Seeds of Faith
This week has been all over the place emotionally haha. We found out Jason can't be baptized until after his probation is over which broke our hearts. But we know he will work towards it eventually and in a year or two I will be coming back to see him give his burdens to God and become a member of His church!!!! We had a lot of tough conversations with people we are teaching as well and my testimony has grown as I have had to testify and face a lot of the same doubts and struggles that I had before my mission. It's funny how God's timing works and how I have gained so much empathy for other people through my unique life experiences that I had to have for them. God is preparing all of us to help and serve and be more. I'm more apt to see someone else's perspectives, more able to face challenges, to have more faith to move mountains or climb them, more reliant and trusting in Him, and more willing to CHANGE. This life is all about how much we let God change us as a perfect parent wants their children to gain all He has!

2 Nephi 26:33- He doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile

Fun Things
-We went bowling last p-day and I've found I do better when I do trick shots than bowl normally so next time any of y'all bowl w/ me, remind me to bowl from on my knees pushing the ball lol.
-On exchanges we went to a food distribution service thing and it POURED RAIN! We were soaked but it was such a fun time!
-Spanish soccer nights are always a fiestaaaa!
-We went to Cold Stone with John haha. That's one of my fam's traditions to get ice cream for lunch so it gave me a piece of home!
-It's starting to cool way down (OK not a super lot Utah friends) but it's chilly and the weather here can't make up its mind so one minute we are dying of heat and have to take our jackets off and the next we have to put them back on again bahaha!
-Our ward had their kids primary program at church last Sunday and it made my whole week!!

Gratitude
-My district and companion<3
-Looking back on hard things with an eternal lens.
-Our bodies and the word of wisdom!!!
-The power of a child's testimony.
-Doubts--being that they are necessary for us to move forward.
-The importance of families.
-The gift of the Holy Ghost.
-Beautiful chill fall South Carolina vibes (idk you don't know until you're here baha)!

hello
Hello! I’m Mindy. I love Spring and Fall weather, the BYU Cougars, reading, hiking and of course…my family! I LOVE being with them doing just about anything…but usually attending one of their games or just hanging out!
