Thankful November!

I really enjoyed doing this throughout the month of November! Having a grateful heart is so healing and puts such a peaceful and happy spirit in your heart! I have been so blessed in my life and I want my Heavenly Father to know that I am grateful for both the big and the small things that make my life so good!

THANKSGIVING (Katelyn's Letter)

Hey y'all!

What an awesome Thanksgiving week!! I can't believe it's already the holiday season wow wow wow! I'm also losing all motivation to write these emails lol but imma trying my best!

Seeds of Faith

ONE OF OUR FRIENDS IS WORKING TOWARDS BEING BAPTIZED ON CHRISTMAS EVE!!! One day we called him and he seemed really really down. We felt prompted to meet with him at the church that night, so we did. We talked for a really long time and Kanoo played the piano. A couple days later he called us and said he had a confession. It turns out when we had met with him he had everything planned out to take his life and was just coming to say goodbye to us. He said, however, that the love we showed and hope he saw at the church and hearing the piano helped change his mind and saved his life! Now he wants to give his life to God and Jesus Christ and let them take his burdens and pain! He also wants to be baptized in the ocean which would be so so epic! What a roller coaster of a week but God's timing is perfect! After that phone call Alma 26:16 was how I felt:

Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel!

Y'ALL NEVER KNOW WHAT SOMEONE IS GOING THROUGH. Don't hesitate to act on promptings you receive and love you can give. God's timing is so perfect and He knows what we need to go through and how we can help others come unto Him and be comforted in His grace!!! Also give thanks to someone who has helped you through hard things this week, because Gratitude is so so good!

Pockets of Fun
-We had 3 Thanksgiving dinners --holy moly! They were all so good with awesome people!
-On Thanksgiving we did service giving out thanksgiving meals--it was pure chaos but so so fun! We also found a guy in a turkey costume. How iconic!
-One guy told us no thanks to Jesus because he believed in the Greek Gods.

Gratitude

-Cute doggos (one of our members has a golden retriever who is SOOOO ADORABLE)!

Katelyn's Christmas Package...

I got this package in the mail today with just enough time to arrive for her Zone Conference where they will give all the packages to the missionaries. I can't wait for her to open it!! It's been fun being Mrs. Santa!! Merry Christmas Katelyn!!

Ohio State v. Michigan Football...

Don't we look excited to cheer on our Buckeyes? I know they lost to Michigan but I guess we've been doing too much late night partying! I thought this was funny!! Better luck next year Bucks!!  Maybe next year we will all stay awake for the game!  (At least BYU beat Stanford today...)

Thanksgiving AND Luke's First Birthday Party!

This morning, we all slept in a bit, but Bill, Robin, Allison and I got up and took a nice walk. We cut some greenery to set a pretty table for our dinner. Allison helped me do it. The weather is so cold but so gorgeous right now!! I love it!!! We had a yummy dinner and everyone was in the kitchen helping to get all the food on the table for our feast! It all tasted so good and I ate WAY too much!! I literally gobbled ‘til I wobbled!!! Later, we went over to Megan and Todd’s and celebrated Luke’s first birthday! He did NOT like the birthday hat but he loved his "smash" cake!  All the rest of us had yummy pie! I can’t even believe that Luke is already one!! What a sweet boy to have in our lives!! I love being a mom, and I LOVE being a grandma!! It’s the BEST gig EVER!!! He’s such a cute little buddy!! Happy Birthday Luke!!  We love you to pieces!!!

Temple Day with Brooke!

Brooke and I enjoyed such a special time at the temple today... it was just so sweet to be in a session together! I felt so much peace and that for that moment, everything was right in the world. This is the stuff I love as a mom! It was a gorgeous Arizona day as well. So much fun!

 

Sick Six Months and Homemade Spoon Rings (Katelyn's Letter)

A member helped us make spoon rings this week, I got sick and lost my voice, we celebrated my 6 months with Freddy's ice cream, and had a ton of lessons fall through rip... But John and Jason are still going strong yay! Also found out that I will be staying in Nexton with Sister Knutson another transfer-- woohooo!
