We went to the Mesa Temple Open House with Jarred and his family. Jarred’s dad Dray ended up not being able to come, so it was just his Grandpa Tullio, Anna, Jarred and Nico. Bill, me and McKenzie and Megan and Todd went as well. They really enjoyed it. They asked a lot of questions and were especially interested in the sealing rooms and eternal marriage. We were answering their questions throughout the tour—Anna and Tullio were very curious. So much has changed with the temple! It was fun to go through it and recognize the old floor plan in places and not recognize anything in others! It is a beautiful temple and the grounds are gorgeous. They moved the Temple visitor’s center across the street and expanded the temple grounds I think for the Easter Pageant—to accommodate more seating and make more room for the stage. The church has also beautified and renovated the area with new apartment complexes and businesses surrounding the temple as well. The area had gotten pretty rundown in the years before the renovation. The church is always so good about investing in the area and bringing up the value of the property in the areas around a temple. It is really nice now! I would love to go out there and poke around a little more when we have more time. After we went on the tour and took a picture on the north side of the temple, we walked over to the visitor’s center and looked at all the booths and things there. They’ve made it super kid friendly and interactive. After we finished there, I had made reservations at Rosa’s! Of course we had to go there—it’s tradition! It was fun to visit and enjoy eating together. It brought back a lot of good memories going to the Mesa temple! We spent so many years at that temple before the Phoenix temple was built! It’s crazy that it’s already been 7 years since we've had the Phoenix temple! The Mesa temple is like an old friend! (One that I haven't seen in a looooong time!)
