Hello everybody!
I'd say Happy Halloween but it really really really did not feel like we even had Halloween this year! We had a leadership meeting all day and then came home and ate pizza and got to work! (Plus we put our Christmas tree up this week soooooooooooo yeah!)
Hehe ANYWAY it has been a great week!
Some highlights:
>I found out that someone me and my trainer found more than a YEAR ago is getting BAPTIZED!! That was a cool moment to see the fruits of the work even if it is literally a YEAR later!!
> We donated blood and then went and got flu shots and normally shots are the WORST for me but after donating blood I didn't even feel the shot yeehawh!
> One of our friends finally came to church this week and we were SO HAPPY to see her there! She brought her son and he is the cutest but at one point, he ran straight for this old lady in our ward and tried to steal her walker!! Holy moly it was the funniest thing and it was more funny to see people's instant reaction to get up and prevent the tragedy haha but oh man do I love that kid and his mom and I am so happy they got to come!
It was so special when she had to leave she just looked at me with such sincerity in her eyes and said "I'm happy I got to take the sacrament today" and I am just so grateful for that too! I'm so grateful for our Savior and that we can come to Him each week and feel of His love and constant care :)
Something that has been super standing out for me from studies and meetings lately is the importance of small & simple things. Last week at church a lady talked about a cycling team in Britain that was performing very poorly and hired a new coach to come in and make them better. This coach started making small changes to improve things by 1%. So he made a bunch of small small adjustments that alone seem pretty insignificant. However, the results were astounding. That team went on to win gold medals and big races. Then, last night there was a devotional given by Elder Renlund and he talked about the importance of the small and simple things too! He talked about viruses old and new and how important it is to do small and simple things like washing hands and wearing masks and little things like that to prevent it. He then correlated that to preventing spiritual viruses that can come into our lives and may hit us like COVID if we aren't prepared. And then, in a talk I read recently about change it proposed we ask ourselves this question to create major changes in our lives by small and simple things:
"What single small decision can I make right now to move forward in my process of becoming?" It is just really standing out to me how important the small things are and that they really can have BIG consequences! So here's one more reminder to do the little good things consistently and also on the flip side, avoid doing the little bad things consistently because those effects are just as impactful!
I love you all and hope you have a great week!
