Happy Easter! :) (Brooke's Letter)

4.13.2020

Heyo!

Gosh it's been a busy week!

Yesterday was EASTER!! :) IT WAS SUCH A GOOD DAY! We got to Skype into Sacrament with the Elders again & then we all went around & bore our testimonies about Jesus Christ & it was just so amazing! After our meeting we went & dropped off a lunch for the Karen Elders & then we all Skyped in to have an Easter lunch together & it was really fun! It SNOWED a TON yesterday! But it was kind of cool because it made everything white & pure just like Christ when He was Resurrected! We got to have a lesson with Dah Wah & some members yesterday over the phone & we talked about Jesus Christ's resurrection & when He came to the people in the Book of Mormon & Dah Wah bore his testimony for the first time! It was so amazing & he didn't even know he did until after & he was so happy & we were SO happy!

We had the WORLDWIDE FAST on Friday which was really amazing! It was so cool to see people from EVERYWHERE  & all walks of life come together under the direction of our prophet & with a united goal! Wow that was powerful!

We got to have a lesson with one of our friends who we have been wanting to read the Book of Mormon & SHE DID!!! And she is getting into it!

In another lesson with Dah Wah this week, (man we love this kid so flipping much) he had read the tree of life story in the Book of Mormon  & was so excited to share with us what he learned! He also got really excited when he read the word repentance & new what it meant! It has been so exciting to see him grow & progress & now he is seeing it too!

We got some sad news this week that all this Corona stuff will make it so one of our friends won't be getting baptized before Sister Rick's goes home but we know she will get baptized eventually & that God has a plan for her & for everyone!

We found someone really cool this week & finding her was just so meant to be! She is seriously so awesome & already becoming like our best friend! She makes us so happy every time we see her! We are excited to teach her more!

We had a really cool lesson with another one of our friends where we wanted to read the Book of Mormon together (which they don't have in Karen but DO have in THAI & she speaks Thai!) so we would read in English while she read in Thai & then we would come back together & talk about it in Karen & it was so amazing! She had some really amazing comments! Language barriers can't stop the work from moving forward!

In ANOTHER video lesson with Dah Wah we read together the story of the strippling warriors & invited him to go share the story with his mom. He was nervous & didn't want to at first but then, you could almost feel the shock of energy & he decided to go tell her & went right then & there! He got nervous again when he got in front of her but we helped him along & then he took off! He told her the story & shared his thoughts & answered her questions so well! We were so proud & the spirit in the room was SO strong! That kid is amazing & we know God is so proud of him!
Gosh I love being a missionary & I LOVE these people! I love our Savior, Jesus Christ, & all that He has done for us! I've made it a goal to study about Christ more, especially studying his Atonement, & I am learning so much! I feel so much Joy & Hope because of Christ & I am very grateful for the experiences that I am having that are bringing me closer to Him. I know this church is His church & the doctrine it teaches comes from Him. It is true. And it is good. And it will bless your life if you will let it! If you are looking to grow your relationship with Christ, I invite you to join me in studying His Atonement every day! I can already see it making a difference in my life! One small blurb from a talk that I really liked talked about how because of Christ's Atonement, "Our yesterday's no longer hold our tomorrow's hostage." THAT is hope. I am so grateful for new beginnings & second chances & for the mercy & grace of our Savior. I love & pray for you all!

Love, Sister Freeman ဖီပြံဝါ
