District Championship Prelims

Katelyn had a great day today at the District Prelims meet at GCC!  She swam the 200 IM and the 100 Fly and later in the 200 Free Relay.  (Coach rested her for the Medley Relay because she already had the 200 IM and the Fly...and she does the Fly in the Medley, so that was nice that she didn't have to swim that today!)  It will be a pretty tiring weekend by the time she swims all her events. They are the most difficult of all the events!  She did great today!  She is seeded 5th in the IM and 3rd in the Fly for tomorrow!  This year they also did something new.  They had an All District Academic Team and the girl and boy with the highest GPA on each team was selected... Well, Katelyn was the girl from our team and Andrew Maskovich was the boy from our team.  (He wasn't there at the meet, though.)  That was really COOL!!  I'm proud of Katelyn and her accomplishments and for all her hard work in the classroom and in the pool!  She excels at whatever she does!
