Another exciting day with McKenzie’s Convocation ceremony at the Wells Fargo
Arena! The College of Engineering is
HUGE!! I’m awed that so many graduates
were honored in a 2 hour time frame!
Both yesterday and today balloons came down after the ceremony! Sparky even showed up to wish the graduates well! That was fun!
Ira A. Fulton—the man whom the Engineering Dept. is named after, spoke
and gave such a heartwarming speech.
He’s in his mid 80’s and had to have his grandson wheel him up to the
podium in his wheel chair. I think he
may be a member of the church, because he spoke of a visit to BYU’s school of
engineering recently. He sure acted like
one and was fun to listen to. It was fun
to watch McKenzie cross the stage, shake the Dean’s hand and receive her
diploma! What a day!! We got lots of pictures AGAIN today and
thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it!
After graduation, we drove straight to Katelyn’s basketball game v. Independence
HS. Katelyn made it just in time to warm
up and get ready for the game. Grandma
and Grandpa were also able to see Katelyn play, which was fun. McKenzie came
too and enjoyed the game! They won
39-21!! Yay!! After the game, we took everyone out to a nice dinner at Olive Garden
for McKenzie’s graduation dinner. (That's McKenzie's favorite!!) It was
a really nice evening to cap off a really nice couple of days! We were all REALLY full after a yummy dinner! I am very proud of McKenzie for accomplishing what she did! It took lots of effort, patience, sacrifice and sheer will to do what she did! I'm so proud of her-- it's on to bigger and better things now!!
