Another Great Cross Country Meet! This was the Veritas/N.Phx Race at Granada Park in Phoenix

It started to pour big, huge rain drops at this meet right before it was supposed to start. The skies were dark with ominous clouds and it was lightning and thundering. I kept hearing the officials say that the thunder was too far away and that they didn't need to cancel the meet. Good thing, because Katelyn did awesome today! I always love to see her compete! She came in a solid 3rd place at this meet, but for a large portion, she was in 2nd place. She did well. After the meet, Coach Rosen came up to me and told me that if she makes top 10 at the Great Hearts Championships in 2 weeks, she will get a jersey, and that if she places top 7 she will go to a Regional Championship on a team made up of these top 7 and wear that jersey in that race. This team will be comprised of the top 7 runners in the Great Hearts division. So it will be like an "All District" team. She had told me about this already and she is super-focused and pumped about this. She is really motivated and not only wants the jersey, but wants to compete at this Regional race. I'm sure she will do it, too! When she sets her mind to something, she does it!
