Temple Baptisms!

What a beautiful, glorious Arizona spring morning!! We decided to spend it doing Temple Baptisms at the Phoenix Temple. Sammy Holmes went along too. (Katelyn wanted all the Beehives to go and invited them, but got the word out a little too late, so many already had other plans.) It was the perfect way to spend a morning of Spring Break! Brooke, Katelyn, Sammy and I all were baptized and Bill did the baptizing and confirming. Brooke got to do a family name on Bill's Dad's Mom's side of the family-- for Mary L. Green. Bill said that he'd gotten an alert that this name was found, so he printed the temple card so we could take her name to the Temple. Then, I found out when I wrote Megan, that she was showing someone at the Visitors Center in DC how to do Family History and had actually found this name... we didn't know this when we did the baptism, but found out later on Monday the 21st when I wrote to Megan and told her about it. That's when she told me that she'd found it on her end!! Wow! That is so neat! So, I asked Brooke if she wanted to be baptized for her, and she did. I thought it was fitting that she do it since she is directly related to her and not me. (I will have the wonderful opportunity to do all the rest of her work for her!) There was a neat feeling present as Brooke and I waited to be baptized. I asked if she could feel it and she said "yes". Katelyn was already in the water being baptized at this point. Because it was a family name, when Brooke got out of the water, they did the confirmation right there by the font. I've never seen that before. Each of us got to do 5 baptisms. After, we went to Kneaders for lunch-- YUM!!
