Family trip to Flagstaff--Day 2
6.19.2026

We went to a park way across town that had a lot of pickleball courts and everyone that wanted to played and I played with the boys on the playground equipment. They loved it and it was super shady and breezy and it just felt so good to be outside! Luke brought his bike to ride around and I pushed Logan on his scooter. He stands on it while you push it-- pretty nice ride, haha! In the afternoon, we went to the Lava cave and explored there for quite a while...most of us went all the way to the end of it! I don't remember it being so difficult of a hike, but there were rocks and uneven ground all the way through it and you had to duck your head every once in a while. As dark as it was, if you weren't watching, you'd either trip or bonk your head, and I did both! Luke and Logan were troopers through the whole thing and mostly loved it until they tripped or bonked their heads! Dad got everyone headlamps which made it so much easier to see and left our hands free for climbing and balancing when we needed it. It was chilly down in there too--about 40 degrees or so! At one point, we all turned off our lights and we talked about how just one little light being on, we could see, but when there was no light it was virtually impossible to see our way. We talked about the light of the Holy Ghost and how important that is to see our way, and we also talked about how our light can lead the way for others too! It was crazy that with our lights off, we couldn't even see our hands in front of our face. We decided to go for burgers tonight to another highly rated place. We went home and Dad and Todd went to go get them. We each ordered the meal we wanted and then we ordered a couple of big orders of fries. Well... it turned out that each meal came with it's own fries... so we had all the fries we could EVER want and then some! (We ended up bringing them home, will freeze them and then air fry them later!) We laughed at our mistake-- oops!) Everyone was a trooper today. That Lava cave was no joke! Megan especially! She kept a smile on her face and finished the very difficult hike! We had a fun day! The World Cup is going on right now, so in any spare time, Todd had the TV playing with different teams. We enjoyed watching a lot of soccer!
