The Water is Rising!!!!!
6.30.2024
The guy came early this morning at 5:30 to acid wash the pebble tec and then the water truck came with 8 loads of water... he'll come again tomorrow with 8 more loads to hopefully fill this thing all the way up. If we are short, we'll use the hose for the rest of the water. This has been a long time coming, but we are almost there and almost swimming! It sure looks beautiful with the color we chose!
Logan's New Sleepsuit...
6.29.2024
Since Logan is rolling over, Megan changed from his swaddle (straight jacket) to this cute, puffy thing! What a cutie!! He looks hot though...
Pebble Tec!
They got here at 5am to start the pebble tec! They had everything cleaned up and were gone by 11am or so! These guys know what they're doing! It was fun to watch how they pour it and then smooth it out. The landscaping team was also here doing some more of the turf. They left around 1pm. They have to come acid wash the pebble tec in the morning and then we get a truckload of water after that at noon. We should only need the hose overnight and then we are a GO for SWIMMING------FINALLY! While there is a lot yet still that needs finishing, we are sooooo much closer to being able to enjoy our backyard! Everything is really starting to look nice!
1st Watermelon!
6.28.2024
Lukey brought this in from the garden tonight... our first watermelon! We was so excited, but he could barely hold is as he carried it in!
Stonework, Diving Board and Turf...
6.26.2024
Today they got more stonework done at the pool on the East side along the edge and under the diving board. They also finished putting in the diving board, as well-- And, they are slowly adding more turf. We are getting there. It's crazy how long everything takes!
MORE Backyard Progress!!!!!
6.25.2024
Here's what happened today! Most of the trees were planted, many of the shrubs were planted, more turf was installed, the diving board well was started and even the smaller of mom's 2 Ficus trees that sat on her back porch (that we've been keeping alive in their pots by hand watering them for over 2 years) got planted! It is the picture of the tree just north of the Ramada-- the third from last picture in this post. We will plant her larger Ficus over by the putting green, so I can see it out my windows. I'll be able to see this one from the house, too! Things are coming together beautifully and all the waiting and patience and frustration have come to fruition! A storm was coming in while I was taking these pictures this afternoon, and just as I finished it was really whipping things around-- a large Ash tree (Bonita) that they hadn't planted yet fell over along with a lot of grass getting blown off the ground and into the sport court. It rained pretty hard tonight, as well. That is my only complaint in this house...it is so well insulated that I can't hear anything outside which is great for barking dogs or neighbors parties (the 2 things that really bugged me in our old house), but I cannot hear the rain. I looked out the window before I went to bed and saw visually that the rain was coming down really hard, but if I hadn't done that, I would not have known it was pouring outside!! I love this weather-- but maybe a little less of the whipping around the wind does! Isn't the sky beautiful in these shots!?!?
Stone, Turf and Landscaping-- FINALLY!
There was major progress on the backyard today! They almost finished the stone on the jump wall, they got some turf installed and they're starting to plant more trees and shrubs! They also did the block fence around the propane tank, as well. (I think this was done while we were away in Flagstaff.) It is starting to look sooooo good!!! Had a beautiful Arizona sunset tonight as well...
