After a couple of nights where the hospital said to wait for a call, on Friday morning Megan called in to check her status and they told her to to call back in ½ hour (UGH), so Megan did and they said they had a bed and a nurse and to come on in! It went from a leisure Friday morning to GO TIME!!! They packed a few last-minute things and Megan did her hair and they were out the door! In a few hours I got the call that she was progressing pretty fast, so Bill came over (Luke was on his nap at the time) and I headed over to Arrowhead Hospital—that drive seemed to take forever!!! I got there in plenty of time and it was fun to just visit and talk. Megan had an epidural, so she was just chillin’. Apparently, the contractions were pretty hard, so she opted to get the epidural. I think she was trying to do it without, but decided it would be better to have it! I AGREE!!!!! It was so fun to be in the delivery room and NOT the one giving birth! What a sweet experience it was to be a part of someone coming into this world! Wow! There was a sweet spirit there and the Dr. and nurses were SO CUTE and fun! Logan is such a sweet little guy!! I love him so much!! It all really worked out the best for Megan! Instead of spending the night in an uncomfortable hospital bed, she got to sleep in her own bed last night and get ready the next day, and THEN go in. We had a nice slow morning enjoying the fun with Luke and being together. It has been nice that Todd has been around too, as he took paternity leave before Logan was born. I think that was a blessing for Megan to have him around and available to help with everything! I think Todd enjoyed it too! Logan's name wasn't quite decided at the time of his birth and the nurses were all voting on their favorite-- which was super cute! By late that night they had pretty much decided on Luke William Polley which suites him so well! While I was at the hospital, Bill spelled me off and got Luke up from his nap. He took him to our house to help in his garden and eat strawberries! They had fun together too!
