We Thought Brooke Was Leaving...

We said our goodbye's (or so we thought) tonight and I took Brooke to the airport, but her flight was delayed on Allegiant (no surprise there!) but then there was this big crazy dust storm and her flight eventually got cancelled around midnight. Meanwhile, I'm having car trouble because the fob to Bill's car died, so it went into theft mode and I lost power-- right after dropping her off at the gate... I was glad I'd lost power right AFTER I dropped her off and could still safely get to the curb. Well, after an hour of being pulled over at the side of the road and waiting with the airport operations guy in a no parking or stopping zone, Bill was able to get there and we got the problem fixed. We just needed a key fob that worked, but the car was dead by then, so the airport tow truck guy jumped us. Then I drove my Suburban home and Bill was right (sort of ) behind me. Then Brooke called and needed to be picked up because her flight got cancelled... so Bill had to go all the way BACK to get her at around midnight! Ugh. It was a really weird storm-- very low visibility apparently, but I drove home just fine. But if Allegiant hadn't been running late, she would've made her flight before the storm rolled in. The airport got super busy and a lot of traffic backed up in the time I had to wait to switch cars, so it took me a while to get out of there too! (It's Labor Day weekend and everyone is trying to get out of town!) It was just a weird night, though! Plus side? We get Brooke for another 2 full days! She doesn't leave to go back until Sunday morning!!!

Luke is obsessed with a little train from one of my toys he was playing with today... I let him take it home and Megan said he wouldn't put it down. He had to hold it while she read him The Goodnight Train. Apparently it's his favorite book right now, and hence the obsession with the train toy! He's so dang cute! She had to pry it out of his hands so he could go to bed!! Hahaha!

Also, we got to finally put up my swing today! Terry finally got the drywall patched above the swing where the drywallers hadn't finished around the hooks. It looks SOOOOOOO CUTE! I love it!

Let's Go Surfin'!

We spent the afternoon at the lake and had soooo much fun! We are all getting so much better at surfing! I have finally figured out how to drop the rope and stay in the wake!!! Todd almost nailed a 360 several times, figured out how to knee board on the surf board, sort of body surfed with the rope and Todd and Brooke "bubble jumped". It was just the 4 of us so everyone got a lot of time behind the boat. We went to Megan and Todd's after we cleaned up the boat for pizza and games-- Code Names and 5 handed Rook, which I won!! (My team also won Code Names!)

And It's a.......

BOY!!!!!! So this time around, I was the only one that knew what the baby was going to be. Megan and Todd wanted to be surprised this time. She sent the email with the results to me. It came with a video and I screenshotted (last picture) the results from the email itself. We were all so surprised! We all really thought it was going to be a girl! This little guy really surprised us! Since the poppers come with both boy and girl powder, and you can't take them back, we let Lukey Bear shoot the girl ones off! When Megan and Todd did it, he just stood there in shock. I think it scared him, but he was also sooooo curious what just happened! It was so cute!!! He loved shooting them off! When Megan had Luke I told her that I could see her being an all boy mom... I wonder if that will happen? She's a good boy mom, but I hope that she gets at least one girl!!! We sure are excited for this little guy to come into the world. Luke and him will be good buddies--partners in crime!! What a fun experience!!!

Temple Tuesday with Brooke!

Brooke and I went and did Initiatories at the temple today! We had to get back home for the big reveal with Megan to find out the gender of her baby, so it was short and sweet! I'm glad we were able to go!!! Even a quick visit to the temple is so peaceful and calm!!!  (The last picture is a really cool shot a lady took of us.  She was so nice to offer to take it!)

Lots of great stuff this week!

♡Put Casey on date for baptism on September 13th!!!! She felt the spirit so strongly for the first time in her life in the car with her boyfriend (Sheldon is a member) and it was the best feeling ever! THEN she felt it again in our lesson when we talked about temples and families and how God plans for them to be together forever in His castles:,) She felt the spirit soooo strongly again and thought about her two little girls (and Sheldon???? I hope and pray so they are super cutie) and the joy of this Gospel and the blessings it brings. The spirit basically screamed to ask her to make that first step towards eternal life and joy and she said YES! Sheldon is going to baptize her 2 Wednesdays from now:))

☆Got to see my recent convert from Charleston THE JOHN GREEN (aka Eagle). He is so awesome! You can tell how much God continues to help and change him even though he is already a legend. Gonna miss him in the Philippines! But I'll go visit of course so:)

◇Went to Barefoot Landing (kinda like Broadway at the Beach) and the beach again this pday-- y'all I could seriously be a beach babe/mom for the rest of my life:)

♧Lots of animals again this week haha. We met a deer whisperer guy feeding his wild deer and a guy with a pet bird that ruined his wings by flying into his TV bahaha. Sad but funny at the same time.

☆Played Twister with the young women and thankfully it was just young women cuz I had a dress on and wasn't bouta lose lol!

○We got to a members house for dinner early one day (for the first time in FOREVER) and Gary, our new bestie, was going on a ride with his electric wheelchair and took the curb at the wrong angle and it tipped!!! Lowkey very scary haha but he told us to walk into his house and tell his wife Joyce to come out (she was terrified when she saw two strangers walk into her house calling her name) but we got everything figured out and he is OK--just a scrape! They called their neighbors and it was so fun because ALL of them had new yard accents so they were talking cute/funny and being so kind in an aggressive way. I just love Yankees soooo much haha!

♡Meeting lots of part member families!!!! One is hooking us up to play pickleball in the mornings to work out at his facility that only residents can get into... praise the Fryes!
