Beautiful Provo Morning, Time with the Girls and a HUGE BYU WIN V. Virginia!!!

10.30.2021

I got up and went running today and it was even warmer! Another gorgeous day with all the fall foliage! Went shopping at the BYU Bookstore with Brooke and Katelyn. We got some yummy BYU fudge to share. Katelyn showed us her cute Stitch costume and put it on… Brooke had to study so Katelyn, Bill and I went to Zupas for a late lunch/early dinner and took it to the duck pond south of campus to eat it. It was a fairly warm and beautiful sunny afternoon. After we ate we walked through the LSB— I had never been in that building. It is so light and pretty inside! It was fun to look at all the real stuffed animals they had on display on each of the levels. We took Katelyn home and went back to the hotel to relax before the game and have a nap. Good thing too because the game didn’t start until 8:15!! Ugh!!

The game was great v. Virginia! We scored 2 touchdowns pretty quickly! We were ahead until late in the first half when our defense just couldn’t hold them and they scored a bunch!! They got ahead for a while but never by much. Then after the half our defense came back strong and there were a couple of turnovers where we intercepted or sacked their QB and scored some touchdowns winning the game. Tyler Allgier is definitely my favorite player on the team! He scored 5 touchdowns and tied for the record in one game! He was fun to watch!! We all joined in on chanting his name when he was taken out toward the end of the game. The game ended 66-49!! After, we met up with Katelyn (who was wearing her Stitch costume— there were some funny costumes!) who was in the tunnel where the players go in to the locker room. They were high fiving and taking selfies! We also got to see Kilani Sitaki out on the field doing the same thing with the fans! He is so awesome and is so interactive with the team and the fans!! I got few pictures of Tyler Allgier, as well...  It was a fun night. By the time we got out of there all of Katelyn’s friends had gone home so we walked her back to the dorms and then walked home.  I love that she wanted to stay and see the players come in-- even if she had to wait all by herself! It was 1am by the time we got back! So much fun!! What a fun game-- got a little worried there for a minute, but BYU pulled off a huge win!  I bet Bronco wishes he'd stayed at BYU!

A Beautiful Fall Run with Katelyn and Dinner @ Chilies with Brooke...

10.29.2021

It has been so fun to see the girls and spend time with them in between all their studying, homework and social lives! Friday Katelyn and I went running together! It was so fun to go with her!! We had a good visit while we ran. Nothing too deep but it was fun to just be together! It was a gorgeous morning and a bit warmer! I learned that Katelyn can do a standing vertical jump onto a pic nice table! She showed me when we stopped to use the bathroom. Pretty impressive! She said she can actually do higher at the gym!

Later we took Brooke and her roommate Caitlyn to Chilies for dinner and ended up seeing Tanner and Andi come in. We waved at them and they came and sat with us! It was kinda fun! Weird that all of us just happened to be there at the same time! We had a nice visit with them! We FaceTimed Megan and Todd too! After we went back to Brooke's apt. and watched Harry Potter #4 and made hot chocolate. Katelyn was out with friends that night. Brooke got points for a ward competition they’re doing with Harry Potter stuff if she watched the movie so it worked out great because Caitlyn watched with us too so they got double the points. I didn’t make it and fell asleep. Always do when it’s dark and late!! It has been a fun day and fun trip up to the cold!

Provo with the Girls..."Everything is Going to Be Alright!"

10.27.2021

It has been fun being up in Utah with the girls!  Tonight Katelyn and I went to dinner together at Via 313 Pizzaria. (Brooke couldn't come because she had some studying to finish up before Waffle Wednesday at their apt.)  The restaurant was recommended to us by Todd and Megan. It was sooooo good but we were so FULL after! We did not finish our food! But it was yummy! I took her back to the dorms because she was going to a pumpkin patch with some friends in her hall.  Met up later with both the girls at the apartment after Waffle Wednesday...

Update on Katelyn...

10.24.2021

Katelyn has been volunteering with Y Serve and got to go to a "Sports Hero Day" for kids with some players from the football team. She is pictured below with some of them-- Puka Nacua being one of them! (She's been DMing with his brother Samson Nacua, as well...) She got a selfie with Caleb Lohner at Midnight Madness when all the students stormed the court at the Marriott Center after. She said she was pushed right into him and took a selfie with him super fast! She hiked the Y with the coolest mascot EVER-- our amazing Cosmo! How cool is that to hike the Y with Cosmo!?!? She also got to go to a haunted house with a bunch of her friends. I'd definitely say that she is making the most of her time at BYU! I'm glad that she is getting involved and enjoying a healthy social life, as well!
