A Little Backyard Progress...
4.30.2024
...after almost a month of WAITING for the city and all their delays... this FINALLY hapeened today! Something finally happened!!! Yay!!! It's the little things! The guy came and made the countertop for our BBQ... should be getting the appliances for it and the firepit this week as well... we will see. I'm not going to hold my breath. This project is going to take longer than it did to build our house! We were hoping to be swimming by Memorial Day, but I don't think it's going to happen-- another lovely gift compliments of the City of Peoria and their ineptitude, inefficiency and inability to do anything within a reasonable amount of time! And THEY are making money while doing it all... well NOT doing it all!! It has been so frustrating to deal with them. They do not have our best interest at heart at all. This is a money making thing!
Chillin' with Luke...
Luke wanted Nana to swing with him this morning! Megan came over to see Brooke and Katelyn who got in late last night from Utah. (They got in at 2:30am!) She brought Logan over for them to meet him for the first time! She stayed and we visited and held Logan for quite a while! On their way home Luke wanted to swing on Nana's swing, so we did! Love that little guy!! These are the little things I LOVE!!!
Logan's Piggies!
4.29.2024
Megan sent this today. Logan doesn't like his feet in the blanket! He always has to have his piggies free. When he's in the burrito wrap, he also manages to always get one hand out... he's easy going, but likes things a certain way!! Hahaha!
Sunday Softball with Friends!
4.28.2024
Brooke enjoyed a nice Sunday afternoon at the park with gorgeous April weather in Provo, while we traveled back to not so nice Arizona April weather! (Jealous!) It was so nice up there and I'm missing it already! The boy in the green shirt is Brett and we all think he's cute! Brooke isn't so sure...
A New Do for Katelyn...
4.26.2024
While we were up in Utah, Katelyn had her hair done-- a new cut and color! All ready for the summer!
Luke & Logan...
Megan sent the cutest video of these boys congratulating Brooke on her college graduation from BYU! She sent these pictures of them too along with the video-- so cute!!
Brooke's BYU Commencement & Nursing Convocation...
4.25.2024
Brooke graduated from BYU Nursing school this week! What a huge and amazing accomplishment for her!
Thursday morning we woke up early in order to get over to the Marriott Center to get a seat. Bill went early to take Brooke and some girls from her ward over to where they were lining up in front of the administration building. The Commencement was really wonderful! They had Elder Christofferson presiding and Elder Gong spoke! Afterward we met up with Brooke and I put her nursing pin on. (It’s normally a ceremony and part of graduation but the nursing department had the students do it separately— it’s called a pinning ceremony.) After that we walked over to the Kimball Tower and Brooke showed us the Nursing Learning Center which is basically a mock hospital set up with rooms and very expensive dummies that do different things. One even has a baby! Then we took pictures outside in front of the building. We met up with Katelyn at the Kimball Tower— was fun to see her!! We walked over to the Wilkinson Center and got a bite to eat and then headed over to the JSB for Brooke’s Nursing Convocation. We didn’t get there early enough and barely found seats— in the very front. Bill had to sit on the other side. The Ferrell's were there for their daughter Allyssa and sat a few rows behind us. We got to talk to them for a bit. It was a really nice ceremony and now it’s official— Brooke is a college graduate and (almost) a nurse! She still needs to take the NCLEX and then she can start applying for jobs. After Convocation, we literally went all over campus to take pictures of Brooke. We started at the Maeser building. We finished just in time before our dinner reservation at La Jolla Groves. It was a really nice dinner and tasted soooo good. We were all really hungry! After, we went to their apt. and played Uno (with HUGE cards!) and Mario Kart— my first time ever playing!!
I am just so proud of Brooke and all her efforts to focus on and finish her goal of becoming a nurse! She graduated Cum Laude, which is extremely hard to do and in such a competitive environment of only 60 in her class and a very demanding program at BYU! She is going to bless so many lives! She not only has good sense in her ability to think through things and solve problems, but she has a unique compassion and emotional intuitiveness with people! What a great combination to heal physically and even emotionally! I am just so proud of this girl and all her hard work!
