Shopping Fun with Allison!
6.25.2021
Here's that cute old door Allison and I found at Merchant Square today! I want to sand it down, paint it, distress it, put glass in it and put it in our new house for a pantry room door! A little something old with it's own story for our new house! It's missing a molding piece just under the window opening, but it has an old kickboard at the bottom we'll remove and can use to finish the missing molding. It will be fun to see this old thing be brought back to life!
Joey!
6.23.2021
We watched Nan and Dwight Cloud's dog Joey overnight because Nan had to go to the hospital and Dwight was out of town on a business trip. He is such a cute dog and even went on a walk with us! He smiles at you with his teethy grin... too cute!
Mac Turns 27!
6.21.2021
We all went to dinner to celebrate McKenzie’s 27th birthday! Her actual birthday was on Tuesday, but we celebrated it on Monday for FHE since everyone was available and not working. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and it was so yummy! We also celebrated Brooke getting into nursing school. It was a nice evening. We came home and played cards…Shanghai and Rook. We’ve been playing Rook a lot this summer—it’s been fun! After she opened her presents, we had a yummy ice cream cake. She got a cute new dress, a couple of books she wanted and a couple of cute new shirts. It was a fun night celebrating!

This Text MADE My Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6.14.2021
Brooke really lifted my spirits with this text this morning... I was feeling kinda dumpy and this just made me so emotional. I am so grateful for GOOD kids! (it's the bottom text of the first picture and then my response...) I know Brooke has been worried about the next steps with school as she is waiting to hear back on whether she was accepted into the nursing program, so to reach out to me when I was feeling down really made it all that much better! I love you Brooke!!!
Girls Camp-- Bishop's Night...
6.11.2021
I left at 2:30 to head up the mountain to Camp Lo Mia… but Bill called as I was about to get on New River road to I-17. He said I-17 was closed due to a really bad accident, so I diverted, took the Carefree Hwy over to the 17, down to the 101 and over to the Beeline Hwy through Payson the back way up to camp. It took me 3 hours! I’m not sure why it took so long, but I finally made it by 5:30. Our ward was already eating dinner when I got there, so I joined them. The girls were all so quiet and tired! They had done a really physically taxing obstacle course that took all day… so they were tired. Katelyn looked so tired and she was also sunburned—Bill too! They’d literally been outside all day in the heat and sun doing this crazy hard obstacle course. The bishop’s night was really cute—a Who Dunnit game where we had to guess which Bishop is was that went with the funny clue. We found out some funny/interesting/crazy stuff! The girls all loved it! Then the YCL’s sang such a beautiful song. I really felt the Spirit and I felt so much love for Katelyn. I couldn’t see her very well because she was in the back, but it made me kind of sad that this is her last year! I know she wasn’t even supposed to go this year, but since they didn’t have camp last year, she went ahead and went this year. It ended up being a really good experience for her. After the program, we divided up and went by wards for our testimony meetings. Our testimony meeting was really nice! Many of the girls bore their testimonies. Katelyn waited until the very end to get up and bear her testimony. What a sweet girl. I am just so proud of who she has become and she has had a lot of large obstacles in her way this past couple of years. Kylee Wright got up and bore her testimony and mentioned how she got on the bus to go up to camp and no one sat by her and all her friends were already sitting with someone else and then Katelyn got on the bus and sat next to her. She spoke of how good it made her feel that Katelyn did that. Katelyn made such a HUGE difference for someone with such a small act of kindness! That’s my Katelyn! She doesn’t just talk about being good—she just goes and does it! I love that about her! She is no stranger to being left out and knows first-hand how it feels. I had such an overwhelming feeling of love and pride in my momma heart! Katelyn is a kind soul! She is an example to me of looking out for others, even when you’re sad and your friends aren’t treating you the best! I’m going to miss her so much!!! After the testimony mtg., I got out the milk and cookies I brought up and visited for a while with everyone and then it was time for me to head back down that mountain home! I got off an hour after I wanted to—didn’t leave until 10:30! Google maps had me go through Payson AGAIN! But this time it only took me 2 hours to get home and I unloaded the car, went up to my room and CRASHED!
Headed to Girls Camp! (One Last Time!)
6.10.2021
We all got up bright and early on this morning to get Katelyn off to Girls Camp. I can’t believe this is her/our last year with it! I know she's going to have a really good time. They met at the church at 6:15am and had breakfast and then headed off sometime after that. Have fun Katelyn!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a.... BOY!!!!!!!!!
6.09.2021
Megan and Todd went to Megan’s ultrasound today to find out the gender of their baby. They kept it a secret ALL DAY! Megan and I even went shopping together at Target for maternity clothes and looked at all the cute baby clothes (especially the girls clothes) and she kept it under wraps! We went over to Grandma’s house tonight after Brooke and Katelyn got off work and had a gender reveal party! For the last several months I have felt like it was (and I wanted it to be) a boy. Never having had a boy myself kind of made me want one, plus I just felt like it WAS a boy. Well Megan and Todd bought this HUGE black balloon on Amazon that had confetti on the inside the color of the gender. We were all ready for Megan to pop the balloon and then she giggled and hesitated and we all yelled at her to just pop it! Hahaha! It was pretty funny! She popped it… and a bunch of BLUE confetti came sputtering out! So fun!! I know Todd is super excited. I think Megan may have wanted a girl, but she is very excited it’s a boy! I am so excited! And I am so excited for Megan and Todd! I was RIGHT! (I’m never right about these things!) It will be so fun to have a little boy around! Megan and Todd are going to be the most amazing parents!
