Katelyn's Swim Meet V. Notre Dame Prep and More Halloween Shenanigans...

9.27.2018

I was gone in Utah to visit Brooke and Megan and Todd... but the meet went on without me...imagine that!!!  Katelyn swam the 200 IM and the 500 Free.  She couldn't remember which 2 relays she swam when I asked her.  I guess that meet made a real impression on her!  Hahahaha!!  She says she wasn't feeling very well that day and so didn't do as well as she usually does.  We all have those days!!!  Below is the Fly and Breastroke on the IM.

THEN, Dad is up to his tricks again with another friend... this time of the fury persuasion.  I think Katelyn got a pretty good scare again, but it looks like she's "embracing" it-- literally!

Really Starting to LOVE These Forum Posts From Brooke!

9.25.2018

Got another one of these texted to me today!  I just love Brooke's insights on the scriptures and how she applies these principles to her own experience and life!  I love that she shares these with us!

"Skully" Makes His 2018 Appearance...

9.24.2018

Dad got a pretty hearty scream out of Katelyn when she found "Skully" chillin' in her bed tonight.  She was less than enthused as she was extremely tired after staying up late to finish homework.  I remember last year when Dad put him in  Brooke's car in the driver's seat.  He makes his way around the house.  This year, he ended up sacked out on Brooke's bed where nobody will bother him!  Hahahaha!!!!

More Adventures with Austin...

9.22.2018

Brooke went on another double date with Austin and Megan and Todd tonight.  It looks like they had a good time.  They went to a game type place called Good Move.  Brooke seems to like Austin more and more.  Each time I talk to her she seems more and more impressed with him.  I can't wait to meet him!

Brophy Invitational

Today was the Brophy Invitational.  Katelyn had a great day dropping time on every single one of her events!  She swam the Fly in the Medley Relay, the 200IM, the 100 Fly and the 4x50 Relay, which qualified for an automatic time for State!  They got a 1:42.88.  I’m so excited for that!  I’m proud of Katelyn—she swam a 26 split on that relay!  That is definitely her fastest time!  She got deeper into the provisional qualifying time for the 100 Fly when she got a 1:03.89—dropping 2 seconds!  She dropped a couple of seconds on her 200IM getting a 2:29.24, as well.  She had a great meet.  We all melted in the heat.  It was seriously one of the hottest meets I think I’ve ever attended.  I thought it might be cooler because of how far into September we are, but I was sweating so badly.  It took a while to cool off in the car.  It was fun to sit with all the parents and enjoy it as best we could!  The things we do for our kids!!!  The pictures below are all from the 200IM...

SMHS Meet V. Thunderbird HS

9.20.2018

Katelyn did great at her meet today. I love to watch her swim. That will NEVER change!!  Katelyn did the Fly on the Medley Relay, the 50 Free, THE 500 FREE!!!, and the 400 Free Relay.  The 500 free was a FIRST for Katelyn.  She did not complain one single bit and did it and finished it like a pro!  I’m proud of her… most of the kids really complain when they get put in that event.  It is not her event, but she swam it like coach asked her to and did great!  The pictures in the water are all of the 500 Free.  (On the diving picture, she is the first purple suit.)  I love how she is still ALL SMILES after!  I'm sure she was really tired, but she still managed to SMILE!!  I love it!!

Todd and Megan at the New BYU Pool and Another Amazing Forum Post From Brooke!!!

9.18.2018

Megan and Todd went to the new BYU pool to do laps today.  She says she's teaching him how to swim... I think he already knows, she's just helping him with his technique and form so he can swim faster.

Then, we got this sweet little picture texted to us today-- another one of Brooke's Forum Posts for her Religion class.  She has some amazing insights about listening to your parents... I just love how humble and sweet Brooke is.  The Spirit truly is able to teach her so much because she is so open and receptive to it!

Brooke's Date with Austin at the Provo City Center Temple

9.14.2018

Brooke and Austin had ANOTHER date tonight to do baptisms at the Provo City Center Temple.  They walked there which took a 1/2 hour-- but probably a great way to talk and get to know each other.  She says he's a really nice guy and super humble and respectful.

Introducing Sharkisha Evelyn Freeman...Katelyn's Child Development Baby!!

Katelyn got her baby for child development.  Her name is Sharkisha Evelyn.  Katelyn just calls her Evie.  (She’s a black baby that her classmates thought needed a black sounding name, hence the Sharkisha name.)  I told her to just shorten it to Kisha, but Evie stuck.  She’s been up all weekend taking care of her and waking up at night to feed her.  She says it’s weird because she is actually getting attached to her and loves her.  I remember Brooke saying the same thing when she had her baby from Child Development.  The first 2 pictures are on Friday when she brought the baby home and the 3rd picture is of Evie at the Multi-Stake Youth Conference on Saturday!  Evie got to go places this weekend!  Katelyn was sad when Evie turned off at 10:00 Sunday night!

More Dates With Austin...

9.13.2018

These pictures were taken after a BYU Women's Volleyball game... I think they went to Sonic or something afterward.  Brooke is really starting to like this guy a lot!  Dad and I are nervous here at home and so far away!  Megan and Todd really like him and they've spent a lot of time together doing different things... but I don't know!  This is crazy!

Swim Meet V. Sunnyslope HS @ Cortez Park

Katelyn did great at the meet v. Sunnyslope—they are a Div I team, so we had some great competition!    She seems to still be dropping time in the 100 Fly.  She did that and the 2 free relays and the 50 free at the meet.  She looked great and she says she feels stronger this year!  She’s such an athlete and cares so much about competing and doing her best!  I love to watch my girls compete!  Below are pictures of the 100 Fly and the last 2 are of freestyle...not sure which event- could've been the 50 Free or 1 of the 2 Freestyle Relays... not sure but probably on the 4 X 50 Relay.

Katelyn's Swim Team and Captain Pictures

9.12.2018

These pictures are a little blurry as I took a picture of the picture, but they are cute none the less!  I love this girl and I love that she is involved in swim not only with the competition part of it but the leadership part of it!  I love to watch her in all that she does.  She always does her 100% best!

Reppin' the Y at the BYU Home Game V. Cal

9.08.2018

Well, it was a sad sad loss to Cal, but these guys had fun as they showed up early to get good seats for the game.  It was a good game, but BYU didn't quite pull it off with a 18-21 loss to Cal.
