One Last Hurrah of Summer...

We had a fun weekend with Robin and a fun day at the beach!  We got up early this morning to make it to the beach in time to grab a fire pit-- we got there just as the last couple of pits were being snatched up around 9am!  We set up camp and because Robin's ankle is broken, she volunteered to stay with our stuff.  The rest of us headed to Sunset Beach where we paddle boarded the back bay.  It was a super fun morning, although I fell off my paddle board within the first 2 minutes of being on it... I got wedged between a boat and Megan and I lost my balance and had no where else to go but down into the water!  (I had washed and styled my hair to last the whole weekend...ugh!) 

After we paddle boarded (Dad kayaked), we went back to our camp and had lunch.  Then Todd, Megan, Katelyn and I walked down to the beach and Todd and Megan went boogie boarding... then Katelyn decided she wanted to do it.  Katelyn and I also played Frisbee for a while.  Todd definitely had the longest attention span with the Boogie Board as he was out there for over 2 hours!  We grilled hot dogs for dinner and roasted s'mores.  After dinner, the girls buried Todd in the sand...he volunteered for it and the girls were all too happy to oblige!  Then we buried Brooke's feet in the sand and had Katelyn stand next to her... she looked like a midget!  Todd wanted to try the skim board, and Brooke and Katelyn also tried their luck at it too.  They had fun, but quickly realized how difficult it is to stay on!  It was such a fun day... we stayed longer than we ever have before.  We were having such a great time!  It was a fast and furious trip to California, but it was worth the effort and drive to go!
