So things are progressing with our land purchase... the owner of the house to our west is buying a half acre of our original 2 acres and we are buying the 1.5 acres. Here is the drawing of what our property will look like. Everything from the red line to the right is OURS! Yay!! We are set to close on March 4th-- hopefully everything will go smoothly with the city in redrawing the plat map and getting all the things done that need to be done. We are meeting with the builder that we are hoping to use next week so I've got my fingers crossed that he'll take us on. I've seen several houses that he's built, and I LOVE his work! We are also working with a draftsman to draw up the plans, but that is looking like it's about a month out... so it will be a couple of months probably before we break ground. This process is a very scary but at the same time very exciting process for me. I think I'm going to learn a lot!!

Valentine's Flowers...
2.14.2021
Katelyn brought these home from Albertson's and they look so pretty on my counter! That was so sweet of her!! It has been a super fun day... but I forgot to get pictures of all of us! We came home from church and forgot! So this is the only picture I have of Valentine's Day 2021...
Running My Virtual Half Marathon!
2.13.2021
I got up at 5am and pounded out my Half Marathon—all 13.1 miles of it. Bill, Brooke and Katelyn all cheered me on with signs at various points in the race. It was nice because I got to sleep in and in my own bed, but also it just wasn’t the same with all the excitement, adrenaline and people to help you run faster. I got my worst time, but I was just glad I did it and that it was over! I earned my medal for the 2016 Phoenix Half, so I now have the completed star! I am so excited! I hope they reschedule the marathon soon, so I can run the one for this year. They postponed it due to Covid but I'm really hoping it happens soon so I don't have to train and race in the hot months. I'm thinking it will probably just get cancelled. I would be nice if it happened soon, so I don't have to completely re-train, but I'm not too hopeful about that. This was good though... I got my half in for the year and another one would just be a bonus!
Katelyn is BYU Bound!!!
2.12.2021
Katelyn got her official acceptance letter from BYU!!! I had gone to bed early for my half marathon the next morning, but sometime around 10pm I was awakened by some loud screaming! I found out the next morning that all that screaming was because she'd gotten accepted into BYU!!! We are so excited and I think Katelyn is too... she's still applying to the Naval Academy, but I think she will choose BYU!! Go Cougs!! Now we officially have another one! Yaaaaayyyy Katelyn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hiking Sunrise Mountain Preserve!
Brooke doesn’t have classes on Fridays, so we went hiking this morning with Jamie. It is such a gorgeous hike by her house. It was pretty warm and the sun was strong! It was such a beautiful morning!! We laughed and talked the whole 4.6 miles of the trail! I have really enjoyed having Brooke home for a week... it has been such a BLAST!!!
Crazy February Lake Day!
2.11.2021
It has been so much fun having Brooke home for a week! After Brooke’s online classes and I got home from a Dr. appt., we all went out to the Lake! (Accept for McKenzie—she was working and didn’t want to go anyway!) It was CRAZY being out there in February!!! The water was so cold, but the girls wore wetsuits. It didn’t make the cold go away—it was still very cold, but it made it so they could surf! We had SO MUCH FUN!!! What a fun day! It was a beautiful sunny day, at least! AND, nobody was out there! We pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves! (Nobody was crazy enough!) There were sail boats and fishing boats, but that was about it! Brooke did really well surfing! And, of course, Katelyn rocked it again! They tried surfing together! They actually got up together on 1 surfboard! It was pretty cool!!! They had so much fun and were screaming the whole time—first because the water was cold but then because it was so much fun! After, we took the boat back to storage and got it all cleaned up there, then we went to Chipotle for dinner on the way home. (Katelyn and Brooke went to Smashburger and brought it over to Chipotle to eat with us!) They got treats from Coldstone afterward—Katelyn got chocolates and Brooke got a snow cone—weird… I would’ve gotten ice cream!!! What a fun day!!
