Hiking Sunrise Mountain Preserve!
1.30.2021
Deana and Eric Lowry are in town, so we spent the day with them. We went hiking and Katelyn also came along with us. It was fun!! I took them all on the hike that Jamie and Nicole and I go on which is a 4.6 mile loop. Needless to say I was pretty hammered by the time we finished! (Since I ran 12 miles this morning!) I’m tired!! We enjoyed the hike though and it was a beautiful day with FULL sun! We saw our property from above too! Later, Bill grilled steaks and we had a nice dinner together. After, we taught them how to play Shanghai Rummy and had a fun game. Allison came over too. (Allison is living with mom right now before she moves to Virginia in a couple of months.) After Deana and Eric left, Katelyn left to go with friends and then Allison, Bill and I played another round of Shanghai. Went to bed after though, because I was super tired. Katelyn arrived home shortly after so we didn't have to wait up! It was a gorgeous day hiking and so fun to see Deana and Eric. It's too bad they live so far away in Idaho!
So This Happened Today...
1.24.2021
So we've been looking at buying land ever since Jamie and Jim moved out of our ward in a really pretty area in Pinnacle Peak ward. A lot became available almost right across the street from them! We looked at it, prayed about it, and felt really good about it. Here is an area photo of it from Google...It is a 2 acre parcel that we'll probably divide. It is a gorgeous piece of land in an area right next to the Sunrise Mountain Preserve... so beautiful!! I'm excited about it and hope to start the process of building a home soon. Bill only has a year left as Bishop, so it comes at a pretty good time. I've never built a home before, but we want to take our time drawing up architectural plans and be sure we get exactly what we want. Lots of room for grandkids to roam and explore!!!
Brooke's Hike Up the Mountain...
1.23.2021
Brooke was invited to go on a really rigorous hike today up Horsetail Falls Trail up by Alpine. She went not because she wanted to go hiking and slip all over ice and snow, but because one of the guys has caught her eye. We will see what develops from this. She really didn't want to go and said that it was so hard and REALLY COLD. Anyway... she got a cute picture out of it!!!
Some more Katelyn antics...
1.17.2021
So Katelyn hacked my phone while she was waiting for me in the car tonight... she got bored. Then, we were facetiming with the family and she comes to the conversation wearing these things in her hair! Megan kept taking these screen shots! Too funny! Katelyn just does her thing!
"It's Getting Real!"
1.15.2021
Megan texted me this picture of her cap and gown for her graduation from UCDH in April and said, "It's getting real!" She's SO EXCITED to move to the next phase of her life and can't wait to graduate!
First Day Back @ BYU!
1.11.2021
Today was Brooke's first day of classes... I think she was a little stressed! That's how I always remember the first couple of days of school! We had a nice afternoon together and watched Ohio State get slaughtered by Alabama tonight...UGH! Katelyn and I leave to go back to the WARMTH tomorrow. I don't want to go or say goodbye! I'm going to miss Brooke so much. It's only been 3 weeks since she got back from her mission and I'm just not finished having her around! Kinda sad...
Movin' Into the Condo with Brooke!
1.09.2021
Well Brooke is officially moved in and her room looks so CUTE!! We had so much fun getting everything out and setting everything up! I'm excited for her to start school and I know she'll have a great experience at BYU this semester! Tonight Brooke wanted to try Sushi for the first time and Todd happily agreed to that! Hahaha! We went to Oishii Sushi and had a yummy dinner! Brooke loved it! It was a fun night being together!
Welcome 2021-- with a Covid-Style BANG!!!
1.01.2021
We had fun ringing in the new year at home this year! We couldn't go to mom's house because we all have the Rona and we don't want to get her sick-- so that was sad to me knowing that she rang in the new year all alone. We all have VERY mild cases so we are all doing fine. I think we're going to live! We are looking forward to another absolutely AMAZING year! It has been so fun to have Brooke HOME and with us-- even if we had to get the Rona, it was better getting it all together and watching lots of movies and shows together. Soon it will be time to drop her off up at BYU, but at least it's with a healthy dose of immunity!
