Megan's Letter On 8/29/16 - Hello!

8.29.2016

Hi family and friends!
This week was CRAZY! So much happened so I am just going to bullet point everything!

Miracles in the Visitors' Center:
-Before our shift at the Visitors' Center on Tuesday, we prayed that we would be able to have a miracle! A man named Ron came into the Visitors' Center and so we took him around.  He started out not wanting to change any of his bad habits and thinking he was too deep in sin to change. It was really cool to see the change in him as the tour progressed. Right in the middle of the tour we realized HE was our miracle. We took Ron into the 'Because He Lives' exhibit and that was when we really saw Ron have a change of heart. It was so cool to see Ron gain hope through Jesus Christ. Towards the end of the tour he was in tears and had such a strong desire to live a more Christlike life.
Change can be so scary, but when you help people know that change is good and comes from Jesus Christ, it gives them more hope! At the end of the tour, Ron asked us if we could send missionaries to him! This was such a neat experience for us! Change is how we use the atonement of Jesus Christ!
- Jessie McClain. She called into Mormon.org and I answered her phone call in the teaching center at the Visitors' Center! She wanted to have a free copy of the Book of Mormon! I started asking her questions and getting to know her and she told us that she wants to know more about our beliefs. She said she was driving and was in the process of finding a new church to attend. She said a silent prayer to herself, opened her eyes and then saw 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' right in front of her! I called her local missionaries and they went and visited her that night! It was so neat!
- Last night we got to teach a group of people from Ethiopia, and a group of people from China! The people from Ethiopia came in and told us "We had to come in and learn more about the Mormons!" They were so sweet and so willing to learn! The group of people from China came in and wanted a picture with us... Haha and were so interested in learning more! There was a little bit of a language barrier but the gospel and the spirit still got through to them and touched them!:) I love getting to meet people at the Visitors' Center that come in!

Investigators:
Tara and Reza Ghanadan- they are the couple who are not members, but have a son serving a mission in Australia! We had a lesson with them and they are doing so well! We brought a member with us and they had so many comments that helped them. They are progressing pretty well and love learning about the same gospel their son is teaching!
Doris- She is one of our new investigators!!!!! She requested a Bible, so we went and delivered it to her and she wanted to learn more! I will keep you all updated on her!

Well I love you all!:) Have a great week! I wish I had time to write more!:)

Revenge Is SWEET!!!!!! Muahahahaha!

8.28.2016

We are getting Parker Muller GOOD!!  And all with the full permission and cooperation of his parents!  Today, while they were at church, Bill, Allie and Brooke snuck into the Muller's house and "stole" Parker's prize hat and brand new pride and joy mini-fridge from his bedroom.  Allie and Brooke made a phony Instagram account that will chronicle the adventures of Parker's hat and fridge. The posts are hilarious so far!  Everybody is asking who is running the account, and then Allie will pipe in on the comments with something like, "Um, what's going on?" and then even responds to herself with, "keep up with the story".  She is telling a story of how the hat and fridge are desperately trying to find Parker!  Too funny!  Parker wasn't too happy about this in the beginning, but he is going along with it for now.  He even reported the account to Instagram as "abusive" and they froze the account (Allie can still post, but can't change the name, which is parkerforprom.king because Instagram won't let Allie make those kind of changes to the account until they investigate it. Needless to say, Instagram hasn't found anything abusive about the account.  But, they can't change the name which was always the plan-- they named it this just to get people's attention, and then they planned to change it to something that had to do with the story.  Here are the pictures being used on the account...

Parker's room before the abduction.

The hat and fridge at Bill's office.

Ok, the face is creepy Bill!

Remnant of the TP job...the kids at the party all helped clean it up, but couldn't
get this piece and one other piece that got lodged in the tree.  Jarred climbed up in the tree to get it
but I told him to get down 'cuz I was afraid we'd have an ER trip on top of all the drama already!

Travels of the hat!  (The fridge is too bulky and heavy to carry around.)  Bill got all of these pictures.

Mr. Faust even got involved!

Allie is going to slowly, over the next week or so, post these on
Instagram so that Parker can be reunited with his dear hat and fridge!
(Notice the people in this picture inside the restaurant.  They are saying, "What the heck!?"
And that is exactly right, WHAT THE HECK!!!!
(I don't think Parker will ever mess with the Freemans again!)

Ok, so here's an update:  We took the fridge and hat back today, 9/1/16.  We were nice though.  We loaded the fridge with all of Parker's favorites...Dr. Pepper and Hot Tamales to name a few.  I've gotten wind that there may be some plans to prank back.  Parker better stay well enough away!  He paid the consequences for the TP job and now we are even.  He will rue the day he messes with us again!

The many adventures of Parker's hat continued... an ambulance!

"I'm on a gurney!"

He even found Hillary the dumbey from Jr. Guard...

...a hearse???!!!!

We took very good care of the fridge! Here's a sampling of what went inside...

Parker's weird doll and Thomas' ASU dog...Parker HATES ASU!
But the fridge is safely back in Parker's room-- that's all that matters!

The hat still had a few more adventures...

...but eventually it ended up back in his room.  This is Thomas' trunk en route to Parker's house.
THE END!!  (At least it better be!)

Sadie Hawkins FUN!!

8.27.2016

Brooke's group came up with the cutest ideas for the Sadie Hawkins Dance this year!  Instead of going out to dinner, they made dinner and dessert-- dinner at the Hart's house, and dessert at our house.  Everybody kept wanting to join this group because it was so much fun and such a great idea. That definitely presented some logistical problems but I'm proud of Brooke that she included these individuals sot that they could have a fun experience as well.  It was hard to be flexible and change "the plan", but it ended up being a REALLY super fun night that all enjoyed!  (We even had other couples come over after the dance who weren't even part of the group that came before the dance to eat together!!)  There were 9 couples before the dance, and at least 3 more couples came after the dance...NOT including the group that tee peed our house, but we will discuss that later!  It was the place to be and these teenagers had a blast!

Brooke and her original group decided to go as animals.  Brooke and Jarred Abbott went as pigs!

Missing a couple, but pictures as everyone gathered...it was a LARGE group!

Silly picture...love the pig nose Brooke!

Just the girls...

Blowing kisses!

Too much energy!

Just the boys...

Ok, now a funny one!

Piggies!

Goofin' around and havin' fun!

The tables at the Hart's house were decorated so CUTE!!

Love the "lollipops" made out of saltwater taffy!

Now for some pictures outside.

Phase 1 of the dinner making process... a few couples came over to our house to make the salads, while the other group went to the Hart's to make the Lasagna.

Yummy Lasagna dinner with salad and bread at the Harts.

Everyone decided to make the pizookies after the dance instead of before, because they ran out of time... it took longer for pictures and to actually make and eat dinner AND they were still full from dinner.  So here they are arriving from the dance getting ready to build their pizookies!

Yummy dough Bill made for the pizookies... double chocolate chip, chocolate chip, M&M's, white chocolate and macadamia nut and some more double choc chip!  Good choices!

Gathering for games...

Mafia.

Kimbrie Nally and Tanner Pace were among the additional couples that came over after.
(The ASU couple.)

Bill directing the mafia game.

Yummy goodness coming out of the oven!

Now for the toppings!

Allie and Dean Peterson... they went as pandas.

CC Brooksby and Thomas Greer-- possibly the cutest couple costume idea!
Mary Poppins and Burt!

It was a fun night... and while we were all enjoying the socializing...
Parker Muller and his Sadie Hawkins date, Bailey Squire and probably some others,
were out tee peeing our house!  I seriously just got the last square of toilet paper that was hanging on for dear life cleaned up!  Trees have blown over in the wind storms lately but that TP stayed intact in my tree, clinging for life!  Ugh!! And they got us REALLY good this time!  So, we don't get mad, we get even.  I've had it!  Parker Muller there will be consequences for this!!!!  Allie, Brooke and I stayed up after everyone had left to devise a plan to get even!  It's gonna be GOOD!
